Back in a Rhythm

It's been over 2 months since being back in Colombia and it has been busy good! I feel like I'm finally back into a good Rhythm of life with school and ministry.  At El Camino Academy I have the privilege of working with all grades and help prepare them and serve alongside them in the foundations/ministry sites that the they go to.  Here are some of the ministries we've been at lately:

3rd & 4th grade: Acoinprev

This is another christian school we partner with.  The students of the other school are the same age as our 3rd and 4th graders. Sometimes we go to their school or they come to ECA. The students from both schools interact together while us teachers put on fun activities.  The last time 4th grade came to our school I gave a message on how God is love.  It was a really fun time and I think the kids really enjoyed it.

5th & 6th Grade: La Luz del Mundo

This is a ministry located in a poor area of Bogotá that has a program for children when they are not at school (some have school in the morning and some in the afternoon) and are fed lunch. The 5th in 6th graders have done a scavenger hunt with a Bible memory verse, skits, story time, soccer, and crafts.

Also another cool way we've been able to help support this ministry is by buying bread from their bakery!

7th & 8th: Buena Semilla

This is similar to La Luz del Mundo. It's a place located in a different neighborhood in southern Bogotá.  The ministry kids come either in the morning or the afternoon and are fed lunch. They have prepared skits, crafts, played soccer and jump rope.

In the foundation FormaVida I continue to give piano lessons and sometimes English classes.  A couple weeks ago a team from the states came down for a week to build a house for one of the families who has children in the program.  It was fun working with them! Here are some pictures of the process:

Another thing with the foundation is that we are starting a Sports ministry on Saturdays! I had started to try and do a running ministry. The last time I went no one showed up. I was super bummed but heard the Lord say, "stay faithful" and the next week I talked with the pastor's son who's in his 20s and works at the church and he was telling me how his passion is sports ministry too. We were talking with the teacher of the children's club (she loves sports too, especially soccer) and have decided that we are going to partner together and do a sports ministry on Saturdays. Last Saturday was the first Saturday we got together. About 12 teens showed up and we played basketball in the street without baskets (they're really creative!!) and then capture the flag. Please pray for this that the Lord gives us direction! We have a vision that in the future splitting up into groups of different sports (basketball, running, and soccer) and each teacher (coach) has the same theme we'll talk with the teens that day during training for our sport. Please be praying that God would lead us in this and show us what He wants to do with this vision.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!!
